appoint my trusty & well beloved frind John Robson of
Nine Banks supervisor & Trustee of this my Last Will & Testam
& I doe charge & desire my wife to constult him about my
Funeral & all other matt relating to this my last will &
Testament & to act according to his advitce In Witness
Whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal ye day &
year above written Signed & Seald in ye psence of Benja:

Memorandum That Whereas their is some progress maid
by subscriptions for founding & settleing A free schoole in
Allendale for ye education of youth I doe hereby order direct
& appoint that if ye Ten pounds appointed left & bequeathed
by me for ye use of ye poor of Allendale by my last will &
Testament shall be applyed & apropriated for ye use &
benefit of a free schoole provided one be founded &
established & set up in ye sd parish of Allendale within ye
tearm of three years next after my decease otherwise ye
above sd ten pounds to remaine & continue to ye use of ye poor
as by my sd will is expresst In witness whereof I have signed
& sealed this codecill & doe declare ye same as part of my sd

Bell Barbary Bell of Hexham in the County of
Northumberland widdow being sick & weake of body but
of sound & perfect memory praised be to Almighty God for
the same doe make & ordaine my last Will & Testamt in
mann & forme following (that is to say) First I give and
bequeath my Soul unto Almighty God my Creator hopeing
through ye meritts death & passion of my Dear Saviour and
Redeemer Jesus Christ to obtaine full pardon & remission
of all my Sins & to Inherit Everlasting Life & as for my
Worldly Goods I dispose thereof as followeth Imp I Acquitt
& discharge my son Joseph Maughan of Hexham in
