In the Name of God Amen I James Oliver ye Younger
of Hexham in ye County of Northumberland Butcher being
sick and weak of Body but of sound & perfect memory praised
be God for it doe make this my last Will and Testament in
manner and forme following (that is to say) First I Recommend
my soule into the hands of Almighty God my Creatr hopeing
assuredly through the meritts Death and passion of Jesus
Christ my Saviour & redeemer to obtaine full and free pardon
of all my sinns and to ineritt Eternall life: And my Body
I give to the Earth from whence It came to be buried
in such decent & Christian manner as by my Execx
hereafter named shall be thought fitt & convenient And
as for Such worldly Estate as it hath pleased Almighty
God to bestow upon me I give & dispose thereof as followeth
Item I give devise and bequeath unto my Brother in law
James Watson of Hexham aforesaid Dyer All that my Close
of Arable land meadow or pasture ground containing by
Estimation two Acrees be it more or less with the appteces
scituate lying & being within ye Townfeilds of Hexham
aforesd boundering on ye lands of Edward Robson on the
East, the lands late belonging to his Grace the Duke of
Newcastle Decd on on ye West the the loaming called hairelaw
loaming on the South and the Kings high Street on the
North To have and to hold the sd. Close of Arable
Land meadow or pasture ground with all its Rights
Members and Appurtenances unto the said James Watson
his heires and Assignes for ever To the intent that the said
James Watson shall and may sell and dispose of the same to
any person or persons whomsoever to the best advantage
And the money ariseing upon the saile thereof I will that
the said James Watson shall pay the same to my Execx.
hereafter named for and towards the paymt. & Discharge
of my Debts. Item I give and devise unto my loving wife
Anne Oliver All that my Messuage Burgage or Stonehouse
wherein I now dwell for and during the tearme of her
naturall life Item all the rest of my Goods and Chattells
moveable and imoveable I give & bequeath unto my said
Loveing wife Anne Oliver who I doe hereby nominate
and appointe sole Executrix of this my last Will and
Testament And I doe hereby revoke and annull all
former
