Page 76, Will, Joseph Bell, 8 November 1700, p 3

In the first in parte recited menconed surrender fore soe much
money as shall discharge my Debts & Funerall expences after my psonall
Estate is disposed of by my Executors hereafter named towards paymt
of the same & for what my personall Estate shall fall short thereof
Item I give legate & bequeath unto my loving Brother William
Bell the sume of Four pounds of lawfull English money to be
payd by my Executors hereafter named within Twelve months
next after my decease; Hee the said William Bell paying Interest
or Consideracon for ye same to my sd Brother Peter Bell during
the life of my said Mother Jane Bell Item my Will further is
that in case my Daughter Jane shall dye without Issue of
her body that then my Brethren Peter Bell & William
Bell & their heires to whom my other Estate will discend &
come shall pay unto my Nephew Thomas Cragg and to my
Neice Jane Nicholson and to each of them the sume of Three
pounds of lawfull English money within Twelve months
next after the decease of my said Daughter Jane. Item I give
legate & bequeath unto my loving Mother Jane Bell ye sume
of Tenn shillings of lawfull English money to be payd by my
Executors hereafter named within Twelve months next
after my decease Item all the rest of my Goods & Chattells
moveable & imoveable I give and bequeath unto my loveing
Brethren Peter Bell and William Bell who I doe hereby
nominate constitute and appointe Joynt Execss. of this my
last Will and Testament Item I doe hereby nominate constitute
and appointe, John Carr of Hexham aforesaid Gent Tutor &
Guardian for my Daughter Jane Bell untill she attaine ye
Age of one and Twenty years or be marryed Item my Will
further is that in case my said Daughter Jane shall happen
to dye without Issue of her Body that then my Brethren
Peter Bell and William Bell & their heires to whom my other
Estate will descend & come shall pay unto the said John Carr
his heires or Assignes the sume of Five pounds of lawfull
English money within Twelve months next after the
decease of my said Daughter Jane In Witnesse whereof
I have hereunto sett my hand and seale the day & yeare
first above written. Signed Sealed and published in the
