In the Name of God Amen the Eighteenth Day of
Aprill in ye Tenth Year of ye Reigne of our Sovaigne Lord King
William ye Third yt now is over England etc Annoqz Dm 1698
I George Carr of ye Lee in ye parish of Hexham & County of Northumbland
being sick & week in Body But of Sound & perfect minde & memory
praised be God Doe make & Declare this my last Will & Testament
in Manner & forme following (that is to say) First & principally
I Committ my Soule into ye hands of Almighty God my maker
& Creator & to his Son Jesus Christ my alone Saviour & redeemer
& for ye Worldly Estate wch ye Lord hath been pleased to bestow
upon me I give & Despose of as followeth Imprimis I give
and bequeath unto William Carr my second son Forty Pounds
Item I give & bequeath unto Henry Carr my Third sonn
Thirty pounds Item I give & bequeath unto George Carr
my Eldest son one little Bay Mare & ye two stots* that are
now Drawne in ye Draught lastly I leave Jane my wife sole
Executrix of this my last Will & Testament as Witnesse my
hand & seale the Day & Year first above written Declared

Rickardson als Richardson of Parkeside in ye parish of Allendaile
& County of Northumberland yeom being sick & Weak in body but of
good & perfect memory (thanks be to Almighty God for ye same)
& calling to minde ye uncertaine Estate of this transitory life, &
that all Flesh must yeild unto Death when it shall please God
to call: & being Desirous to settle things in Order Doe make, Constitute
Ordaine, & Declare this my last Will & Testament in manner and
forme following; revokeing & by these presents annulling all and
every Testament & Testaments Will & Wills heretofore by me
made & Declared either by word or by writeing & this only to be taken
for my last Will & Testament & none other. And first being penitent
& sorry from ye Bottome of my heart for all my sins past humbly Desiring
forgivenesse of ye same, I give & Committ my soule unto Almighty God
my maker in whom & by ye meritts of Jesus Christ my Saviour &
Redeemer, I trust & believe Assuredly to be saved, & to have full
remission & forgiveness of all my sins. And my Body to ye Earth
from whence it came to be buried in such place & Decent manner
