Page 16, Will, William Lee, 23 November 1697

In the Name of God Amen The Twenty Third day of
November in the Ninth Year of William The Third of England etc
King & in ye Year 1697 I William Lee of Hexam in the County of
Northumberland shoomaker being sick in Body but in good and
perfect memory praised be to Almighty God & calling to remembrance
the Incertain Estate of this Transitory life & all flesh must
yeild unto Death when it shall please God to call doe make
Constitute & Declare this my last Will & Testament in manner &
form following. Revoking and adnulling by these psents all
and every Testament and Testamts Will & Wills heretofore by me
made & Declared either By word or By writing and this to be taken
Will & Testamt & none other & first being penitent & sorry from ye bottom of my heart for my sins past most Humbly desiring*
onely for my last forgiveness for y same I give and Committ my
Soul unto Almighty God my saviour & Redeemer in whom and by
the Meritts of Jesus Christ I trust & believe assuredly to be saved
and to have full remission and forgiveness of All my sins and that
my soul with my Body at ye Generall day of Resurrection shall
Rise again with Joy & Through ye meritts of Christs Death & Passion
possess & inherit the Kingdome of Heaven prepared for his Elect
and chosen and my Body to be buried in such place where it shall
please my Executrix hereaft named and now for ye setling my
Temporall Estate & such goods & Chattells as it hath pleased God
to bestow upon me. I Doe Order give and Dispose the same in
mann & form following. Item I give and bequeath unto my son
Anthony Lee The Sume of Twenty Pounds of lawfull English money
to be paid by my Executrix hereaft named within Twelve monthes
next aft my Decease for his porcon Item I give & Bequeath unto
my son Cuthbert Lee ye sume of Twenty Pounds of lawfull English
money to be paid by my Executrix hereafter named within Twelve
months next aft my Decease for his porcon & my will further is
that if either of them happen to die before they attain ye Age
of one & Twenty Years then such porton by me hereby left to my
sons shall Acrow & goe to my other son so surviving Item I give and
bequeath unto my Dear wife Mary Lee all my other goods and Chattells
moveable and unmoveable whom I doe hereby appoint to be my
sole Executrix of this my last will & Testament to see my Will
proved & funerall Expenses Discharged I Doe hereby appoint my
Brother Christopher Lee of Wall to be my supervisor of this my said
Will to take care and dispose of my sd Childrens porcons to ye Best
advantage & if my wife mary Shall happen to die before my Eldest
son William Lee come to Age I Doe appoint ye sd Christo: Lee to be Tutor
of & for my son William Lee In Witnesse hereof I have hereunto sett my
hand & seale ye day & year above written. signed sealed & delived in ye psence
of Philipp Aydon, Wm Aydon; Wm Stokoe William Lee
