of Two of his Majestys Justices of the Peace to have been
Built made and finished and completed, and the sd Henry in
pursuance of the sd Artes afterwd Caused a certain Bridge
to be Built a cross the sd River, and procured & made such
Road as in the sd Artes is mentd as afd which sd Bridge and
Road were on the afterwds on the 9th day of Jany in the year of
our Lord 1781 Certified to the Genl Quarter Sessions of the peace
for the sd County of Northland under the Hands of Two of his Majestys
Justices of the Peace for the sd County of Northd to have been built made
finished and completed And whereas the sd Henry did not from
time to time & at all times as need or occation was required during
the Term of 7 years computed as in the sd Artes as is in that behalf
mentd as afsd uphold support repair maintain rebuild and
keep in good and sufft Repair the sd Bridge for the sd 7 years
computed as afd according to this sd Covenant in that behalf but
to the contrary after the sd Certificate, & before the expiration of
of the sd Term of 7 years, the sd Bridge was Broken Down-
prostrated and destroyed, by the floods of the sd River Tyne, and
rendered impassable & useless, and hath ever since contd so broken
down, prostrated, destroyed, impassable & useless, for want of
necessary maintaining, upholding, rebuilding, repairing of the
same, contrary to the sd Covt of the sd Henry And whereas afterwd
towit on the 1st day of May 1788 at Cockermouth afd [?] in the sd
County of Cumberland a certain Discourse was had & moved
by and between the sd Gawen Aynsley John Tweddell and
Bacon Wm Wastell and the sd Henry of and concerning the sd Artes
and Breach of Covt & of and concerning the Damages which the
sd Gawen Aynsley John Tweddell & Bacon Wm Wastell and
the other Inhabitants of the sd County of Northd or any of them
had sustained by reason of the sd Breach of the sd Covt of the
sd Henry and upon that Discourse a certain Question arose
and was Debated between the sd Henry and the sd Gawen
Aynsley John Tweddell and Bacon Wm Wastell when the sd
Gawen Aynsley John Twedell & Bacon Wm and other
the Inhabitants of the sd County of Northd, or any of them had or
had not sustained any Damages, by reason of the sd Breach
of the Covent of the sd Hy and thereupon the sd Gawen Aynsley
John Tweddell and Bacon Wm Wastell, then and there alleged
that they the sd Gawen Aynsley, John Tweddell & Bacon Wm Wastell
