Document 103, Letter from Mr Letteney to Ralph Heron, 14 July 1788

Mr Heron Esqr 206 Dsr
Newcastle upon Mr Errington, I beleive set out yesterday for Carlisle
Tyne intending to make some calls on the road. Mr Smeaton
has been with me, this morning, and as Mr E left it
14 July 1788 to himself to go down in what manner he might
Mr Lettenys Ltr think most convenient to himself, He will be at Carl
on the 26th and ready to attend the Councell, on a [?]
in the Evening, of that day.
He desires Mr Donkin may carry with him to C
the best evidence, he can, to show, the identical Spot
on the River, where Mr Mylne bored. In this Case it
strikes me, that the Defts shoud be provided with a
Plan on a small Scale
Yrs J Letteney
