Document 94, Letter from Mr Letteney to Mr Heron, 12 June 1788

Newcastle upon Errington & Anysley & ors. The plt means to move for a spec
Tyne Jury, and Smeaton will assist Mr Errington in striking out the
24. Mr Law will lead, and Mr Chamber and a Mr Hill, by
Mr Errington’s desire, are to be his assistants. A Consultation
will be had before the Counsell leave Town, and previous to it
the Breifs, in the Chancery Cause will be laid before them. I
12 June 1788 fancy the Comm day will be about the 9 July. Serj Cockle
Mr Letteneys Lre had very nearly been retain’d for Mr E. and its fortunate [?] he
was not. You’ll hear fully soon as to the Evidence & I should
myself conceive it will principally be, on both sides, to
show what it will cost to repair rebuild the Bridge, and
opinions may & undoubtedly will differ. Smeaton’s in [??]
agt Mylnes for a Battle.
