Document 39, letter from Mr Errington to Ralph Heron, 11 July 1783, p 1

83
Sir
I wish you to present my
respects to Mr Aynsley & the other
Magistrates at the Hexham Sessions &
acquaint them that it was my intention
to meet them & make a proposition relative
to Hexham Bridge but I have been advised
to take the sense of the Count[y?] [a?]t t[he?]
Assizes previous to that st[ep?] [it?] str[ikes?]
me that it might be equally agreeable
to the Magistrates to have that infor-
-mation before any thing was agreed
upon. I have therefore determined to collect
the sense of the County at the Assizes, which
I hope will enable me to make such a
proposition as will meet with the appro-
-bation of the Magistrates at the Sessions
