Document 23, p 2

40
Bridge in Question was take away
as well from want of proper Foundation
as from Colateral Causes, but that
the Arches thereof were not filled with
Water
That no hold by piles was taken
of the Stratum whereon the Foundation
was laid
Mr Donkin can prove that Gullies
were made in the Bed of the River
before the Flood which by not being
filled up might occasion the Fall of the
Bridge and not the weakness of the
Stratum
Mr Heron will prove what is here
stated to have passed at the Midsummer
Sessions and of the Justices telling
him and Mr Errington they could give
no Relief or Accept any Thing in
lieu of rebuilding the Bridge without
the Authority of parliament

Note: Remarks and objections to Mr Errington's petition p 2
