Newcastle Castle Excavations to be published early 2027

A project involving a synthesis of 30 years of excavations and a reassessment of their results, a new building analysis and interpretation of the site of Newcastle Castle, and the compilation and editing of these results into a single text will come to fruition with publication in early 2027.

This will be in a special edition of our journal Archaeologia Aeliana, and in a recent blog for the Castle Studies Trust, its editor Don O'Meara explains the history of the excavations, and the process that has led to the imminent publication in early 2027.
