18 July; our third annual Family Picnic at Great North Museum. 1,898 people visited the museum during the day. There was a treasure trail quiz, face painting, crafts, story telling, Roman armour to try on and the potter was fantastic, as always. Thanks to our volunteers Denise Heslop, Howard Cleeve, Anne Craven, Frances McIntosh, Marion Anderson, and to the excellent Tyne and Wear Museum staff.
