                                                 Wooler Janry. 20th.1772

 Sir
     By the last Post I received Your Favour and I observe that the
Books of Subscriptions for the Relief of the Sufferers by the late Flood
are to be clos'd this day; yet as I am desirous to promote the Charity as
far as lays in my Power, and as some Persons in this Neighbourhood
whom I have applied to by Letter, and who have promis'd to subscribe
but have as yet neither remitted me Their Subscriptions, nor acquaint
:ed me with the Sums They propose to give, for which Reason I am under
a Necessity of taking in Subscriptions during the Course of this Week, [and in?]
which I shall send You my Subscription Book, but should be glad to
to know whether I am to send it by the Post, or by a Carrier, if by the
latter where it is to be left at Newcastle
    My wife joins in Her best Respects to Mrs. Heron and Yourself
          with Your most Oblig'd and Humble Servant
