Comments

This is to certify whom it may Concern that the Bearer hereof is an Inhabitant of our Parish, and whom I have Personally known for Several Years, wherein he hath always behav'd himself as a sober, honest and inoffensive Man, is a Fuller and Dyer by Profession, and by a careful Prudent, and industrious Attention to his Business supports a Wife and Family rather in a decent and comfortable, than in a penurious & pinching Way. Witness my Hand John Shotton Curate of Rothbury Feb. 29. 1772.
