An Account and Estimate of the damage done by the late great and dreadful Flood in the River South Tyne in Northumberland in November 1771 to Isaac Waugh of Haltwhistle in the parish of Haltwhistle in the said County farmer £ s d To his Winter Corn then in ye ground washed away & ye soil upon wch it was sown swept away upon a moderate Computation his Damage in ye account cannot amount to less than 15. 00. 0 his meadow ground by ye breaking ye banks of ye Burn is much of it covered with sand & Stones & Several acres of it still under water The Damage sustained on this account cannot be less upon a moderate Computation than 5. 00. 0 Total of his Damage Valued & Estimated by us 20. 00. 0 Thomas Hewetson His near neighbours his + mark & who were                               ye witnesses        John Ellit             to ye above facts set forth
