Page 55, Will, William Teasdaile, 18 May 1699.

In the Name of God Amen The Eighteenth day of May One
Thousand Six Hundred Ninety and Nine I William Teasdaile of Dirt pot-
Sheild* in ye parish of Allendaile & County of Northumberland Yeoman
being Sick in body but of good & perfect memory thanks be to Almighty
God : and calling to remembrance ye uncertaine Estate of this transitory
life and that all Flesh must yeild unto Death when it shall please
God to call do make constitute ordaine & Declare this my last Will and
Testament in manner and forme following revokeing and annulling
by these presents all and every Testament & Testamts Will & Wills
heretofore by me made & declared either by word or writeing & this
to be taken only for my last Will & Testament and none other. And first
being penitent & sorry from ye bottom of my heart for my sins past
most humbly Desireing forgiveness for ye same I give and committ my
Soul unto Almighty God my Saviour & Redeemer in whom & by the
meritts of Jesus Christ I trust & beleive assuredly to be saved: and
to have full remission & forgiveness of all my Sins & that my soul
with my body at ye generall day of resurrection Shall rise againe
with joy & through ye meritts of Christs Death & passion possess and
inheritt ye Kingdom of Heaven prepared for his elect & chosen
and my body to be buried in Such place where it shall please my
Executrix hereafter named to appoint. And now for ye Setling my
Temporall Estate & Such Goods Chattells and Debts as it hath
pleased God far above my Deserts to bestow upon me I order give
and despose ye Same in manner & forme following (yt is to say)
firstly I will that all those Debts and duetys as I owe in right or
conscience to any manner of person or persons whatsoever shall
be well and truely contented & payd or ordered to be payd wthin
convenient time after my Decease by my Executrix hereafter
named Item I give unto my son John ye Sume of Seaven pounds
and a Great Bible. Item I give unto my Daughter Margarett ye
Sume of Seaven pounds Item I give unto my Son William the
Sume of Seaven pounds Item I give unto my Daughter Jane the
Sume of Seaven pounds Item I give & bequeath all ye rest of
my Goods & Chattells whatsoever unto Ann my wife upon Condicon
that She Shall pay all my Debts and Legacy’s & make her my Sole
Executrix of this my last Will and Testament In Witnesse
whereof I have unto sett my hand & seale ye Day & Year above
written. Sealed & Delivered in ye presence of us Gerrard Vickers
