In the Name of God Amen I John Heron of ye Payes* in
ye County of Northumberland Yeom being sicke & Weeke in
Body but of sound and perfect memory (praised be God for itt)
Doe make this my last Will & Testament in manner & forme
following; And first I recomend my soule unto ye hands of
Almighty God my Creator hopeing assuredly through ye merits
Death & passion of Jesus Christ my Saviour & redeemer to
obtain full pardon & remission of All my sins & to inheritt
eternall life and my Body to ye Earth from whence it came
to be buried in Such Decent & Christian manner as by my
Executor hereafter named shall be thought fitt & as for such
worldly Estate as it hath pleased Allmighty God to bestow upon
me I Give & Despose thereof as followeth I I* Give Devise and
bequeath unto my loveing wife Elizabeth ye sume of Six
pounds & Tenn Shillings of lawfull English money Yearly
and every Year during her naturall life to be payd her by
my son John Heron out of ye Rents and profitts of my Messuage
Tenemt & Farmhold called ye Payes aforesaid for & in lieue
of her Thirds & Widdow right of ye same to be payd her at two
Feasts or Terms in ye Year (vizt) Martinmas & Pentecost by
equall porcons, the first paymt thereof to begin & be made
at whether of ye said Termes shall first happen after
my Decease Item I Give and bequeath unto my said wife
All my household Goods and Utensells of household Stuffe
Item I Give and bequeath unto my Daughter Ann Heron
ye Sume of Thirty pounds of lawfull English money to
be payd her by my Executor hereafter named within
Twelve months next after my Decease; Item I Give Legate
