Page 9, Will, Robert Pearson, 15 August 1695

In The name of God Amen I Robt Pearson ye Elder of Errington in ye County of
Northumbland Yeom, being sick & weak in body but of sound & pfect memory
(praised be God) for it Do make & Ordeine this my last Will & testamt in manner
& form following ; And First I Comend my Soul into ye hands of Almighty God
my Creator hopeing assuredly through ye merritts death & passion of Jesus Christ
my Onely Saviour to obteine full & free pardon of my Sinns & to Inheritt everlasting
life, & my Body to ye Earth from whence it came to be Burryed in such decent
& Christian manner as by Executor hereafter named shall be thought fitt
& convenient, And as for such Wordly* Estate as it hath pleased Almighty
God to bestow upon me I Dispose thereof in manner & form following
Itm I give & bequeath unto my loving Wife Catherine Pearson the Sume
of Two hundred pounds of lawfull English money to be payd by my Ex
hereafter named, & my Will further is, that if my sd Wife have a mind
to Release her Thirds* or Widdow right of my Copy hold Messuages* lands &
Tenemts in ye Townpps territories & feilds of Acomb & Wall in ye County
of Northumbland to my Son & heire Robt Peirson, that then ye sd Robt
Pearson shall pay Yearly & every Year during ye life nrall of my said
Wife Unto my said Wife ye Sume of Eighteen pounds of lawfull
English money at two feasts or terms in ye Year (that is to say) at ye
feasts of Pentecost & St Martin ye Bpp* in Winter, And my Will is
that my sd Son shall pay Yearly unto my sd Wife ye sume of three pounds of
lawfull English money at ye feasts aforesaid over & above ye above menconed
Sume of Two hundred pounds : Itm I give legate & bequeath Unto my
daughter Mary Pearson for her filiall portion ye Sume of Five hundred
& Thirty pounds Due to me by Security out of ye lands & tenemts called
Walwick Low hall in ye County of Northumbland : Itm I give legate & bequeath
Unto Mr Robt Stobbert Minister of Bavington ye Sume of ten pounds to be
payd by my Ex hereafter named wthin Six months next after my decease
Itm I give legate & bequeath unto my Cozen Jane Quincy (Wife of James
Quincy of Newcastle upon tyne) the Sume of twenty pounds to be payd by my
named
Ex hereafter wthin Six months next after my dease* : Itm I give &
bequeath ye Sume of Five pounds of lawfull English money Yearly &
every Year for & during ye time & term of twenty Yeares to be payd
unto Edwd White & Thomas White of Humsehaugh* their Exs or Assig
by my Ex hereafter named for & towds ye maintenance of two dissenting Ministers
the One at Bavington ye other at Hexham at two terms in ye year vizt
Pentecost & Martinmas* Equally & in case there be noe dissenting Ministers
at ye sd places or eith of them during all ye sd terme, then my Will is
that ye sd psons their Exs Adms & Assignes shall together wth my son Robt
Peirson & his heires dispose of ye said Yearly Sume to such Religious Uses
as they in their discretion shall think fitt : Itm I give & bequeath Unto my
loving Wife all my household Goods & household stuffe & also fower Cows
And all ye rest of my Goods & chattells moveable & imoveable whatsoever I give
& bequeath unto my Son Robt Peirson whom I do hereby make sole Ex of this my
last Will & testamt & I do hereby Revoke all former & other Wills & testamts
by me made either by Word or Writeing. In Witness Whereof I have hereunto sett
my hand & seale this fifteenth day of August in ye 7th Year of ye reigne of o Sovaigne Lord
