In the name of God Amen The Twentyeth day of October Annoq Dni 1694
John } I John Nevin of Sipton Sheile* in ye parish of Allandaile & County of Northumberland Yeom
Nevin} being sick in body but of good & pfect memory thanks be to Almighty God & calling to
remembrance the uncertainty Estate of this transitory life, & that all flesh must Yeild
unto death when it shall please God to call Doe make constitute & Declare this my
last Will & Testament in manner & form following revokeing & annulling by these
psents all & every Testament & Testaments Will & Wills heretofore by me made
& Declared either by Word or Writeing & this to be taken for my last Will & Testamt
& none other : and first being penitent & Sorry from ye bottome of my heart for
my Sinns past most humbly desireing forgivenesse for ye same I give & committ
my Soul unto Almighty God my Saviour & Redeemer in whom & by ye merritts
of Jesus Christ I trust & beleive assuredly to be saved & to have full remission
& forgivenesse of all my Sinns, & that my Soul with my body at ye generall day of
Resurrection shall rise againe with Joy & through ye merritts of Christs death & passion
possesse & Inheritt ye Kingdome of heaven ppaired for his Elect & chosen, & my body
to be burryed in ye Church or Church Yard where now I dwell, And now for the
settling of my Temporall Estate & such Goods & Chattells & debts as it hath pleased
God farr above my desarts to bestow upon me I Doe order give & dispose the same
in manner & form following (that is to say)(vizt) Imps : I will that all those debts
& dueties as I owe in right or conscience to any manner of pson or psons shall
be contented & payd within convenient time after my Decease by my Executrix
hereafter named Item I give unto my Cozen Thomas Nevin Tenn pounds Item
I give unto my Brother John Sheild Two pounds Item I give unto my Brother
John Sheild Chilldren each of them tenn Shillings : Item I give unto my
Mother Ann Ridley Two pounds : Item I give unto Joseph Hetheringtons Sonn
Thomas Hetherington Two pounds Item I give unto Cuthbert Roddam five pounds
Item I give unto my father in law Cuthbert Robinson five pounds
Item I give unto ye poor of ye Park & Forrest Tenn pounds ye Yearly
Interest to be equally divided amongst them by ye Churchwardens : Item I give
unto my man Cuthbert Peirson Two pounds Tenn Shillings & my Cloths*
Item I give unto Ellenor Whitehead Tenn Shillings : Item I give unto
my Sister Margery Robinson Tenn Shillings Item I give unto my Wife
Mary Nevin all ye rest of my Goods moveable & immoveable whereby I
make her sole Executrix of this my last Will & Testamt In Witnesse
whereof I have hereunto sett my hand & Seale ye Day & Year above

Johnson} sick in body but of good & pfect memory praised be God Doe make my last
Will & Testamt in manner & form following First I bequeath my Soul unto
Almighty God my Creator being heartily penitent for all my Sinns & humbly
begging pardon at his hands for ye same for the merritts of his Sonn Jesus Christ
in whom alone I beleive to be saved & my body to be burryed in Hexham
Church Yard in such decent manner as shall be thought fitt by my Execu[tor?]
hereafter menconed Item I give unto my daughter Jane Lowes Five poun[ds?]
to be payd by my Executor Twelve months next after my decease Item I gi[ve?]
unto my daughter Elizabeth Johnson five pounds to be payd her Twelve
months next after my decease Item I give to my Daughter Margaret Johnson
five pounds to be payd her Twelve months next after my decease Item
I give unto my Daughter Margaret Barbary Johnson One Crumble* headed Young
Cow to be Delivered imediately after my decease with half an Acre of Stra[w?]
& parcell of Hay in ye Barne : Lastly of all other my Estate & Goods whatsoev[er?]
moveable & immoveable excepted ye Goods wch belonged to my Wife Jane
which I leave to my said Daughter Barbary : I make my Sonn Thomas
Johnson sole Executor In Witnesse whereof I Doe hereunto sett my
hand & Seale ye day & Year first above written : Signed Sealed and
Delivered in ye psence of Us William Gardiner, John Johnson, Tho Jones
