Document 7, p 1 Report of Committee meeting 24th March 1772

At a Meeting at the House of Mr. Wm. Knight in the North Bailey in Durham
of the Committee for the Sufferers by the late Inundation

Ordered that the Sum of 354.14. 3 be immediately paid in manner following (that is
today) to the Revd. Mr. Wilson Rector of Washington the Sum of Twenty Pounds to be by
him Distributed according to his own Discretion amongst the Distressed Sufferers by the
said Inundation in this Parish who have Omitted to represent their Losses till now,To
Revd Mr. John Rotheram the sum of Fifteen pounds to be distributed under his direction
by the Curate of Parishes amongst the Sufferers in that Chappelry who have not already
been relieved by this Charity, And the said Mr. Wilson and Mr. Rotheram are desired to
Transmit Accounts of the respective Distributions to Mr. Wm. Hopper Clerk to the
Committee And that the Sum of Two hundred and ninety four pounds Six Shillings to
be paid to the several Persons and in manner mentioned in the next immediate Preceeding
folio undertituled Benefactions and that the said Sum of two hundred and ninety
four Pounds Six Shillings be sent to the Ministers of the respective Parishes wherein the
several last mentioned Persons live together with Directions in what manner the same
Money is to be Distributed and to take a receipt for each Payment, And that the Sum of
Four pounds eight Shillings and three pence be paid to Mr. Wm. Hopper for his disbursements
in and about this Charity, And that the Sum of Twenty One Pounds be paid to Mr. Wm.
Carr for the remainder of his Bill for Business and Disbursements and in full for his
trouble about this Charity, And it is further Ordered that the Sum of Fifty eight pounds
three shillings wch will be the Balance in the hands of Mr. Thos. Dunn the Treasurer
after such respective Payments shall remain there till further order.
