Description

The Magna Project is a five-year research project investigating the Roman fort of Magna, on Hadrian’s Wall, and its surrounding landscape. So far, five trenches have been excavated to the north of the fort. These have covered both features of the Hadrianic frontier and those associated with the fort. The results of the excavations have shed light onto the different functions of this frontier landscape and the people who inhabited it.
